Moore Park Golf Course is a central, public, affordable 18-hole course that keeps Sydney active and connected.

We’re asking NSW State Members of Parliament to support a genuine win-win solution: retain an 18-hole public golf course for access and affordability while delivering up to 20 hectares of new, connected parkland by thoughtfully reconfiguring under-used areas.

Why this matters

  • Access & affordability: Cutting to 9 holes reduces capacity → fewer tee times for public, longer waits, and upward pressure on price
  • Public, not private: Moore Park Golf Course is run by Greater Sydney Parklands on public land; most tee times go to the general public (in comparison to other courses in Sydney)
  • Both is better: Thoughtful design can retain 18 holes and deliver ~20ha of new parkland with safer paths, play spaces and habitat, using the many under-utilised hectares throughout the precinct - not a noisy, traffic-ringed blob on the north paddock.
  • Do it properly: We want transparent analysis published and genuine co-design with active stakeholders and community

What we're asking NSW State Members of Parliment to do

  • Support a win-win outcome that keeps a public 18-hole course and delivers up to 20 hectares of new, repurposed and connected parkland
  • Ensure genuine, real, consultation with the golfers, local residents, and community groups who rely on Moore Park
  • Publish the evidence underpinning any decision, including capacity modelling and a proper business case
  • Protect access and affordability for everyday users at a time when public golf capacity across Sydney is already under pressure
  • Invest in parkland where it works best — in quieter, connected locations with safe access, not an undesirable, windy, hilly, blob, encircled by heavy traffic

Have your say and voice your concern - join us in writing to your local NSW State Member of Parliament asking for their support.

Email your NSW Member of Parliament

Supporters of the Save Moore Park Golf Course campaign are encouraged to speak up and let their local NSW State Member of Parliament know how strongly the community opposes reducing the current Championship 18-hole Golf Course to 9 holes.

This is a simple opportunity for everyone — golfers and non-golfers alike — to contact their local MP and express concern about a change that would affect not only the golf course, but also the many thousands of people who use Moore Park each year for recreation, exercise, and social connection.
